Organizational Statement

The St. Vincent Medical Group is a statewide network of cardiologists, vascular specialists and primary care physicians whose mission is to provide a continuum of care to patients throughout the state of Indiana. A wide variety of diagnostic and treatment options, along with conveniently located facilities, allow testing to be performed on an outpatient basis, decreasing costs while maintaining the highest standards of care.

Responsibilities

The Director of Physician Recruiting will operate as a strategic partner with the Executive Director of Physician Growth and Practice Integration to develop and implement a comprehensive physician, nurse practitioner and physician assistant recruitment and retention program for St.Vincent Medical Group (SVMG). This position bears responsibility for all aspects of new physician recruitment and responsi! bility for the development and implementation of strategies an! d long-range plans to retain the best physicians within SVMG. This includes working relationships with human resources, regional medical directors, regional directors of operations and affiliated hospitals and medical staff in those regions. This director will lead and manage the physician recruiting department and direct its day to day operations.

  • Develop criteria and implement processes for selection, recruitment and staffing physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants for products/service lines throughout SVMG.
  • Develop a standardized tracking and reporting mechanism to be shared with senior leadership and physician leadership on a quarterly basis which includes a process for prioritizing vacancies.
  • Develop a strategic, long-range Medical Recruitment/Retention Plan which includes a standardized process to match candidates to our health system, physician mentoring program, physician satisfaction, physician contract terms and! leadership development.
  • Negotiate contract terms with physician search firms, advertisement fees, relocation/moving expenses, and locum tenen services, etc.
  • Orchestrate all aspects of prospective candidates' interview and site visit processes. Assimilate and review feedback from interviewers and notify all key stakeholders of ¿hire/reject/hold¿ decision.
  • Coordinate the physician credentialing process with SV Health and SVMG's provider relations staff. This includes the J-1 and H1B processing.
  • Cultivate relationships with medical schools, residency and fellowship programs throughout the country for all specialties which SVMG may recruit for not only physicians, but NPs, PAs, CRNAs, and Perfusionists.
  • Develops realistic budget and evaluates spending on an on-going basis with the goal of maximizing cost effectiveness and ROI of operations.
  • Direct supervision of the physician recruiting and provider affairs work groups or! units. This includes the full range of supervisory activities such as ! hiring, training, assigning, monitoring and assessing work. This work involves ensuring that human resources related decisions are compatible with the organization¿s policies, practices and direction.
Qualifications

Bachelor Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university required preferably in a health related discipline is required. Masters Degree in healthcare discipline preferred.

Five (5) to seven (7) years of successful physician recruitment experience or working directly with physicians in a management capacity as a major aspect of the job is also required. Knowledge of hiring and employment regulatory compliance issues is preferred.
