We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Discovery Product Manager to join our team. As a ServiceNow Discovery Product Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the ServiceNow Discovery tool to discover and maintain an accurate inventory of our IT infrastructure and assets. Your expertise in discovery processes, configuration, and data integration will be critical in enabling efficient and effective IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and decision-making.
- Leading the implementation and configuration of the ServiceNow Discovery tool to identify and capture comprehensive information about the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and applications.
- Configurating and Tuning: Fine-tune the Discovery tool to optimize the accuracy and efficiency of the discovery process. Customize and configure discovery patterns, probes, and sensors to ensure accurate and up-to-date information about the IT environment.
- Integrating Data: Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to integrate the Discovery tool with various data sources, such as CMDB, asset management systems, and configuration management tools. Ensure seamless data integration and synchronization for accurate and reliable asset information.
- Monitoring: Monitor the Discovery tool's performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure the uninterrupted discovery of IT assets. Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to identify anomalies or discrepancies in the discovered data. 5.) Data Normalization and Reconciliation: Develop and implement processes for normalizing and reconciling discovered data to ensure data consistency and accuracy. Identify and resolve data discrepancies, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
- Documenting and Reporting: Maintain documentation of the Discovery tool's configuration, processes, and workflows. Generate regular reports and metrics on the discovered assets, including inventory, utilization, and dependencies, to support IT decision-making and planning.
- Collaborating and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as IT operations, infrastructure, and service management, to ensure alignment and understanding of the discovered data. Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand data needs, and address any issues or concerns related to the Discovery process.
- Best Practices and Process Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, new features, and enhancements related to ServiceNow Discovery. Continuously evaluate and enhance the Discovery process to optimize asset visibility, accuracy, and automation.
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with Service Now and data centric product management.
- Extensive experience in implementing and managing ServiceNow Discovery in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, databases, and applications.
- Proficiency in configuring and fine-tuning the ServiceNow Discovery tool, including discovery patterns, probes, and sensors.
- Experience in integrating ServiceNow Discovery with CMDB, asset management systems, and other IT management tools.
- Solid understanding of data normalization, reconciliation, and data quality management principles.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and the relationship between Discovery and other ITSM modules in ServiceNow.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to the Discovery process.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- ServiceNow certifications related to Discovery and ITSM (e.g., Certified Implementation Specialist, Certified Application Developer) would be a plus.
- Experience with Service Mapping would be a plus.
