General Purpose of Position:
This position's general purpose is to provide additional support to our Authorizations Department. This position will aid in following up on the determination of cases, the closing out of cases, and supporting in documentation of cases obtained by the department.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Reporting discharges to insurance companies for the authorizations team.
- Follow up with VOB (VERIFICATION OF BENEFITS) team or check for status of VOB completion for new admissions for the authorizations team
- Run portal eligibility checks (Availity, Provide Express, etc) for cases which do not require authorization, and complete documentation that the check was completed.
- Assist in scheduling peer to peer reviews for the authorizations team.
- Assist in scheduling live reviews for the authorizations team.
- Creation of and resolving common issues for authorization department spreadsheets, including the occupancy reports, KPI reports, and virtual case trackers.,
- Calls to insurance company for authorization determination follow up.
- Any additional administrative duty deemed necessary by the Authorizations Department Manager.
- Assist Authorizations Department Manager and Supervisors where applicable.
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements: Minimum
- Associates degree in health care or business-related field or two years' experience in Behavioral Health environment or related field with exposure to front office operations, back-office operations, and/or administrative assistance.
- Must demonstrate superior customer service and people skills, being able to respond to the immediate needs of supervisors or patient accounts.
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills, being able to effectively reach diverse populations and entities.
- Previous experience in a clinical behavioral health tech position 1+ Years, preferred
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in navigating the following items: Google Sheets, Excel, Teams, Microsoft 365, Google
