Shift: 3rd shift: 10:00 pm - until done (typically 8-9 hour shift), Monday – Friday, plus occasional Saturday.
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour with an additional $2.00 shift premium, will pay more for experienced workers!
Job Duties: The 3rd shift Yogurt Operator will be involved in all operational aspects of yogurt production. The primary duties are to package bulk yogurt (barrels and totes) from approx. 11 pm to 3 am. Following bulk packaging, operator will then help with additional packaging – e.g. pails, retail cups, etc. Secondary duties include, but not be limited to, milk separation, standardizing milk with powders and cream, pasteurization, CIP, and ferment tank operation.
Essential Functions:

Setup of lines for CIP and production.- Fill barrels and totes with yogurt.
- Move packaging materials in/out of dry storage.
- Use forklift to move finished pallets of yogurt barrels and totes to cooler.
- Assist with additional non-bulk yogurt packaging.
- Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
- Verify accuracy and correctness of product identification labels and attach to finished packaged items.
- Operation and monitoring of CIP system.
- Startup and operation of pasteurizer and separator.
- Some manual cleaning of packaging machines, tables, walls, etc.
- Be Backup for 3rd shift Ferment Operator, monitor Yogurt vats and complete product transfer to packaging when yogurt is ready.
- Candidates must have good attendance, be reliable, and be able to work well in a team.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
- Minimum 40 work hours expected per week, overtime may be required.
- Employees are expected to adhere to all company policies.
General Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- A good attendance record is required.
- Cheese/food industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Candidate must be a team player.
- Employees are required to stand the duration of the shift, with frequent and repetitive bending, stooping, turning, reaching, grasping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing 80%, walking 20%, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending 30%, reaching 60%, reaching above shoulder 10%, pushing and pulling 10%, lifting up to 5 lbs. 15%, lifting 6 – 10 lbs. 20%, lifting 21 – 25 lbs. 20%, lifting 26 – 50 lbs. 15%, lifting over 50 lbs. 1%.
- Slide/shuffle 460 lb. barrels of yogurt from weighing scale to finished pallet. – 15%
- Carrying up to 5 lbs. 5%, carrying 6-10 lbs. 10%, carrying 11 – 20 lbs. 15%, carrying 21 – 25 lbs. 10%, carrying 26 – 50 lbs. 5%, and carrying 51 – 100 lbs. 1%.
- Using hands for repetitive action and fine manipulation such as simple grasping right & left, pushing & pulling right & left, fine manipulation right & left.
