Surgical Technologist - Operating Room - Travel - Travel (Surg Tech - OR)
Elkhart General Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital located in lovely Elkhart, Indiana. Our Main Hospital Campus is situated in the City of Elkhart beside the beautiful St. Joseph River. Our full-service, 325-bed main hospital is comprised of over 300 physicians representing more than 30 medical specialties, and nearly 2,000 employees serve in nursing, technical, administrative, and support capacities. Elkhart General Hospital is a Beacon Health System Care Partner.
Most frequently performed surgeries: Total Joints (hips & knees), Laparoscopic procedures, Vascular repairs, Cystoscopies, Gastirc bypass surgery - laparoscopic. Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU): Phase I recovery for surgery patients, all RN staff must have critical care experience, Strong Team Work, May be cross-trained in the OR, Nurses staff holding area and assist A nesthesiologist, Unit staffed Monday - Friday 7am-11:30pm, off hours covered with call. Nurses expected to take call. Surgical RN: Responsible for overall care of surgical patient including....Education, documentation of case, Surgical counts, Works as part of sugical team to ensure positive patient experience, Identification of site/procedure, Assist Anesthesia. Vital part of surgical team, Strong patient advocate, Great Team Worker. Surgical Technician: Responsible for hands on surgical assistance to surgeon, Must have thorough knowledge of instrumentation and prcedure, Must possess strong knowledge of human anatomy, Great Team Worker.
Required Qualifications
Must have 2 years of Scrub experience
Must be Certified, take call and work weekends and holidays as needed
