Pain management anesthesiologists (locum tenens) meet with patients in a preoperative setting to determine the best and safest course of action for pain management during the medical procedure and afterwards. They evaluate the patient's medical h! istory, and special requirements in order to come up with the ! optimal course of action. During medical procedures, anesthesiologists monitor heart rate, blood pressure and other bodily functions and administer appropriate anesthesia. An anesthesiologist focuses on pain management to help patients feel comfortable before and after surgery.
