The Operating Room staff Registered Nurse develops plans of care of patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and works cooperati! vely with all team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice. Has the ability to work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and members of staff to anticipate needs and provide clinical support throughout surgery.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with current Indiana license, or be eligible to take the Indiana State Boards.
Must pass ACLS within 1 year of OR hire date and maintain current as according to ACLS policy. This requirement does not apply to prn staff.
Minimum of one year experience in hospital or related health care setting.
High emotional tolerance for various personalities.
Working Conditions:This position requires employee to regularly:
1. Be at risk for occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials,
2. Be able to work holidays, weekends, days evenings, and night hours, based upon department ne! eds. Must be able to work mandatory overtime or hours signific! antly beyond the normal work day/week.
Physical and Mental Activities, Tools and Equipment:
This position requires critical thinking skills and math skills.
Carrying, pushing, pulling of heavy equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, push/pull 200 pounds.
Extreme attention to detail.
Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment (e.g. telephone, fax, copier, calculator)
Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve equipment and technical equipment.
Additional Information
Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
