Surgery at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital offers the opportunity to participate in the full scope of general surgery with the exception of open heart. The medical surgical team is comprised of many dedicated staff members including a circulator, a scrub nurse/technologist, an anesthesiologist, a team care specialist, nurses and doctors. Associates in our surgery departments are committed to the highest quality surgical care and service for patients and their family.
Responsibilities
The Resource/Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling resources necessary to provide optimal delivery of patient care services.
The role would be Billing and Scheduling functions for the surgical service department, ensuring all charges are completed correctly and on time.
Job Responsibilities:
Completed surgery billing for procedures.
Responds to inquires about schedules and/or patient status, requiring frequent interfacing with physicians, hospital staff, and vendors.
Complies patient/staff related information and data, ensuring accurate data entry into clinical, financial and tracking software systems.
May monitor and record resource scheduling and/or staffing information which may include time and attendance, resource utilization and availability, equipment failures/repairs.
Performs other clerical and administrative duties including sorting and distributing records, preparing reports and correspondence, faxing, answering phones.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/LICENSURE
High School diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum: One year previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Requires decisive judgment and the ability to work with general supervision.
Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required to attend mandatory department meetings as scheduled by department manager.
